Sam Bowden is a small-town lawyer whose family is stalked by Max Cady, a criminal he once helped convict. Despite help from the local police chief and a private detective, Sam is legally powerless to stop Max, forcing him to put his family's lives at stake in a deadly trap that leads to a heart-pounding final confrontation.
